If someone were to ask me what the perfect Summer single malt is, I would say - without hesitation - Linkwood.

Nose:  Summer in a nose. Granny Smith apples, freshly cut kiwi & honeydew melon; lots of fresh, green fruit. White rose & hints of potpourri. Light notes of vanilla and honey smothered vanilla bean on pineapple with kisses of peat. The Bourbon barrel used to age this plays the supporting cast, letting the Linkwood’s signature spirit truly shine. The quintessential summer Single Malt.

Palate:  Medium in body yet light & effortless on the palate. Good oils with more honey covered Granny Smith apples, white rose water & whispers of clean, non-phenolic peat. Beautiful floral notes on the palate.

Finish:   Preserved raspberry compote, honey, the most gentle of peat & vanilla.  Bourbon has the last word here. Don’t let the peat dissuade you - this is a Summer, no-sherry nonsense dram.

Bourbon and House Rating: 86
